Olympic Games:

Hardyal Singh Garchey represented India at the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games.

Hardyal of the Services first showed his merit when he played hockey for the Sikh Regimental Centre in 1949.

He was selected to represent the Services in 1950 and played for them for several years.

He was a member of the Indian team which toured Kenya in 1951 and Afganistan the same year.

He was the Men's coach for India's team at the 1985 Asia Cup.

He was awarded the Dhyan Chand Award in 2004.

He lives in Dehra Dun.
