Olympic Games:

Gurdev Singh Kullar represented India at the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games where India won her 6th consecutive Gold Medal.

Gurdev Singh made his mark while a student at Jullundur.

He played for Punjab Police and Punjab.

He represented India at the Youth Festival in Poland in 1956.

He represented India at the Tokyo Asian Games in 1958 where India won the Silver Medal.

Gurdev Captained India at the Jakarta Asian Games in 1962, winning a Silver medal.

He was the Captain of Punjab that won the National Championship in 1962 in Bhopal.

He was in the Gold medal winning Punjab team in the National Championship in 1965 held in Bombay.

He was in the Punjab team that won the Bronze Medal in 1961 in Hyderabad, 1963 in Madras and 1964 in Delhi.

He was a member of the Gold Medal winning Punjab Police Hockey Team in All India Police Games in 1956 in Gwalior, 1959 in Calcutta, 1961 in Hyderabad, 1962 in Trivandrum, 1964 in Jaipur and 1966 Guwahati. He was in the team that won the Bronze medal in 1960 in Delhi.

He was in the Punjab Police team that won the Beighton Cup in 1966, scoring the winning goal against Signals team.

Gurdev had a family hockey tradition. As far back as 1926, his father, Subedar Thakar Singh travelled to New Zealand and Australia as a member of the Indian Army hockey team.

He emigrated to the UK in 1967.

He played for Airedale Hockey Club in the UK.

Gurdev now resides in the UK
