Shiv
Sharan Singh Jagday was Canada's Team coach at the 1984
Los Angeles Olympic Games.
Shiv
was born on 24th July 1949 in Ludhiana, Punjab.
He
studied at Malwa Khalsa High School, Ludhiana and Punjab
Agricultural University, Ludhiana.
Shiv
learned the art of hockey while playing on the streets
of Ludhiana , Punjab in India , imitating the former greats
in the 60’s and 70’s.
He moved to Canada in 1977.

Shiv
learned the science of hockey and the secrets of success
of the European and Oceanic Hockey teams, while attending
the FIH coaching seminars and observing the top teams
and coaches, closely.
He
is a High Performance Consultant by profession.
He
was Coach of the Canadian National team from 1982 –
1986.
He
was Coach of the Canadian Junior National team in 1981.
He
was Coach of the Canadian Team at the 1986 London Hockey
World Cup.
He
was Coached of the Canadian team at the 4 Pan Am Games,
winning the 1983 Pan Am games for the first time in their
history.
He
was the Coach of the USA National team in 1998 –
2005.
His
Hockey idol is Balbir Singh 'Railways' (India)
Shiv
is currently the USA National Coach and resides in the
USA.
